Mills University Studies dropped their record down to 7-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 8-0 to the Bauxite Miners. The game marked the first time this season in which the Comets were not able to get on the board.

As for Bauxite, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Bauxite's part, Kade Deno made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Deno has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

In other pitching news, Ethan Kelley and Austin Hastings dominated on the mound. Kelley tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Hastings pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Hastings a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, Tony Fox was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Landyn Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Coming up, Mills University Studies will challenge Pine Bluff at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets are facing the Zebras at the right time seeing as the Zebras are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Bauxite, they will be playing at home against ESTEM at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
