After flying high against the Wheatland Pirates last Friday, the Sutter Huskies came back down to earth. Sutter was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 48-47 to Center. Sutter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Center apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Sutter's loss came despite strong showings from Jagger Beck and Naseem Bhatti. Beck dropped a double-double on 21 points and 24 rebounds, while Bhatti scored 17 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 36.2% of Sutter's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Terrill Reid was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with four steals for Center. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Nisi, who scored seven points.
Sutter's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Center, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutter on the road again on Friday and play against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Center, they will face off against Colfax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
