Basketball Game Preview: Rosa Fort Lions vs. Holly Springs Hawks + Official Tickets

Rosa Fort and Holly Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Lions will challenge the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

If Rosa Fort beats Holly Springs with 69 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 win over Memphis Business Academy on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Rosa Fort's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Takaedrius Maxwell, who posted 33 points along with five boards and three steals. Maxwell's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Boyd, who scored 20 points and six rebounds.

While Holly Springs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Amory by a score of 64-52 on Tuesday.

Holly Springs found their leader in freshman Jeremiah Dowdy, who put up 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Dowdy. Christopher Hale was another key player, putting up 17 points and five assists.

Holly Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Holly Springs' win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Rosa Fort, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Rosa Fort beat Holly Springs 69-62 in their previous matchup last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
