Seymour is 7-2 against Naugatuck since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will square off against the Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Seymour's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Thursday. Seymour blew past Wilby 17-0. Seymour hasn't had any issues with Wilby recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Wilby's batters probably weren't too happy with Skylar Barton, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Barton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rachael DeAngelis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, nine RBI, and two runs. Those nine RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daphne Shea, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Seymour kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Naugatuck brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 victory over Newington on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Greyhounds have posted since May 7, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Gianna Bush, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Miley Massicotte also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Seymour's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 12.2 runs thus far. As for Naugatuck, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Seymour has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Naugatuck struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
