Los Padres recap October 8, 2013
Santa Ynez scaled the state rankings by moving to 451 from 486 this week, the biggest jump in Los Padres. The Pirates were able to move up by topping Cabrillo 17-10.
Templeton was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Eagles triumphed over Santa Maria 13-6.
Matt Albright threw for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 21-33 with 2 interceptions.
Luke Nickelson was the best receiver in the league this week as Nipomo fell to Morro Bay. Nickelson tallied 4 receptions for 81 yards. Nick Kimball helped Nipomo's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 45 yards.
The Titans' Albright and Kimball have formed a dream team this season, leading Los Padres in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Albright has thrown for 1,250 yards this season, while Kimball has 22 catches for 349 yards. The Pirates' Tristan Collins leads the league in rushing yards with 707.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Lompoc takes on Templeton. The Braves are in first place, while Dan Loney's team is in fifth place.
Morro Bay led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Nipomo. Collins ran for 186 yards and caught 1 pass for 13 yards in the win.
