Given O'Neal's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Furies are ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Forsyth Country Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gigi Lyons, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Lila Kelly, who scored 13 points.
O'Neal's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-1. As for Forsyth Country Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
O'Neal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Forsyth Country Day won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th.
