Catalina Foothills strolled past Canyon del Oro with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 54-37. That's another feather in the cap for Catalina Foothills, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Catalina Foothills to victory were Clara-Mae Hrouch and Kayanna Chief. Hrouch scored 21 points, while Chief scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hrouch has scored at least a third of Catalina Foothills' points. Alessandra Egginton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Catalina Foothills' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Canyon del Oro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catalina Foothills will take on Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tucson High Magnet School will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Canyon del Oro won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Flowing Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday.
