The Heritage Academy Heroes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against BASIS - Chandler as Heritage Academy made off with a 73-50 win. The victory was familiar territory for Heritage Academy who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Nelson, who scored 17 points. Mattson Young was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mathew Akpan, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Akpan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalan Karuppana, who scored eight points along with eight assists and two steals.
Heritage Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for BASIS - Chandler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
Heritage Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Learning Foundation & Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th.
