Adding to the longest winning streak in Southwest Yosemite this week, Bakersfield beat Centennial 54-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
The Golden Hawks lost to Bakersfield 54-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
5-foot-10 quarterback Josh Medina of Liberty is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,348. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Dj Reed. The Independence star has 30 catches for 487 yards.
Paul Golla's team's Asauni Rufus is a mere 6 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Rufus has rushed for 994 yards on 126 carries so far this year.
As it stands, the Drillers are in second, while the Mustangs are in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when Bakersfield and Stockdale face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Drillers comes in having scored 339 this season, while Mike Snow's team has scored 316. Bakersfield scored 54 points last week as it bested Centennial.
The Drillers led the league in scoring this week by notching 54 points on Kevin Sneed's team.
