On Saturday, the Longmont Trojans's game was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 50-45 win over Greeley Central. That's another feather in the cap for Longmont, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Longmont found their leader in underclassman Joey Foot, who scored ten points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Foot posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Cole Corner, who scored 15 points.
Despite the loss, Greeley Central still got an impressive performance from Reid Arlo richardson, who scored 18 points. Arlo richardson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Guillermo Gonzalez meraz, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Longmont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Greeley Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longmont will take on Greeley West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Longmont is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Greeley West in Colorado (Longmont is ranked 79th, while Greeley West is ranked 259th). As for Greeley Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Greeley Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
