Baseball Recap: Mounds Has No Trouble Against Oilton

Mounds barely beat Oilton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-1 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mounds got a massive performance out of Jathan Clay, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Clay is becoming a predictor of the Golden Eagles' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 7-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Nail, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Mounds was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Mounds back to even at 10-10. As for Oilton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Mounds will challenge Nowata at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
