Tombstone hadn't done well against Desert Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Tombstone Yellow Jackets breezed by the Desert Christian Eagles to the tune of 53-15. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 26 points or more this season.

Tombstone found their leader in freshman Damaris Alvarez, who went 12 of 22 en route to 28 points and seven steals. Alvarez is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Rachel Thursby, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Tombstone was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Desert Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emily Fellmeth, who earned four points. Priscilla Genteman was another key player, putting up five points and six rebounds.

Tombstone pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Desert Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Tombstone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-47 win against Bisbee on the 9th. Desert Christian has also already played their next match, a 48-16 victory against San Miguel on the 15th.
