Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 38-0 victory over Chaparral (Temecula, Calif.) on Saturday.
The Broncos were up 24-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Nick Stevens touchdown pass to
Su'a Cravens in the first quarter.
Vista Murrieta expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. VM scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by Stevens to Cravens.
The Murrieta school's most effective player was Stevens. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
The Broncos went into the matchup giving up only 12.1 points per game. The zero points that the Pumas ended with were well below their average of 36.7 coming into the game. Chaparral came in surrendering 16.4 points per game this season. CHS struggled against Vista Murrieta's offense, which entered the game scoring 41.8 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 27-10 win for VM.
