The Rossford Bulldogs's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against Otsego by the margin of a single free throw, 44-43. This was payback for Rossford, who suffered a 48-39 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Otsego's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jocelyn Cornell, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Cornell. Another player making a difference was Sam Lehr, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Otsego were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Rossford's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Otsego, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rossford will be home for the holidays to greet Oak Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
