Carter never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Roosevelt Mustangs 15-0. Winning may never get old, but the Cowboys sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Pablo Daurte made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. Those seven stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jeremiah Smith and Sheared Brooks did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went a perfect 1-for-1 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Brooks got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played. Xavier Jones also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Carter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .773. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in six consecutive matchups.

Carter's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Looking ahead, Carter will head out to face off against Godley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. Roosevelt has already played their next game (against Wilmer-Hutchins), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
