The Legacy Christian Grizzlies suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 76-33 loss at the hands of Crosspointe Christian Academy. Legacy Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.
When it comes to explaining why Legacy Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Seth Harper. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Crosspointe Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Neby Yewubneh out in front who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Yewubneh is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Quinton Ford, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and two blocks.
Legacy Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Legacy Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Sebastian's Soldiers HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Tabernacle Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tabernacle Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
