It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Hershey Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They slipped by Chase County 48-47. The win was just what Hershey needed coming off of a 61-34 loss in their prior match.
Hershey found their leader in underclassman Payton Jones, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hall, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Hershey's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Chase County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hershey on the road again on Tuesday and play against Kearney Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Chase County, they will challenge Southern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Valley is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Chase County a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
