Softball Recap: Brown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Brown waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Southern Trojans as they made off with an 18-3 win. For the Bears, this counts as revenge for the 20-19 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Brown pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.7 runs over those games. As for Southern, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brown will venture away from home to square off against Jeffersontown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southern, they will challenge Doss at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
