There's no place like home for Ludlow, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Holyoke Purple Knights with a sharp 10-3 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Lions have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Liv Slatton was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Caitlyn Peczka was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Kylie Roach was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Ludlow's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Holyoke, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
