Canisius is 10-0 against the Red Raiders since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Canisius Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Francis Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Canisius has ten straight wins, the Red Raiders have three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Canisius earned a 52-44 win over the Wolverines.
Canisius relied on the efforts of Pat Benzer, who scored ten points, and Nick Purdie, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Mark Macdonald was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, St. Francis had to suffer through a rough 72-45 loss at the hands of the Gaelic Knights. While losing is never fun, St. Francis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Gaelic Knights are ranked 64th).
Canisius' win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Everything came up roses for Canisius against the Red Raiders in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 82-54 victory. Does Canisius have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
