The Argonia Red Raiders lost against the Cunningham Wildcats back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Argonia had to suffer through a rough 68-34 loss at the hands of Cunningham. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Argonia has scored all season.
Argonia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddex Hemberger, who scored 12 points along with four steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for Hemberger. Another player making a difference was Dalton Morrison, who scored 12 points.
Cunningham got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Albers out in front who scored 25 points. The contest was Albers' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Wegerer, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Argonia's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cunningham, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Argonia will be home for the holidays to greet South Barber at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Cunningham, they will head out on the road to face off against Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Classical is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
