If the Skyline Raiders were feeling good off their 75-44 takedown of the Westlake Warriors on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Skyline took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lynwood on Saturday.
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Lily Brown, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Kendra Douglas was another key contributor, scoring three points.
It was another big night for Taliyah Mcferson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds for Lynwood. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mcferson has scored at least 25% of Lynwood's points. Another player making a difference was Shanilah Ewing, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Lynwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against Mansfield Legacy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mansfield Legacy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Skyline is ranked 100th). Lynwood and Warren will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
