Bronson is 0-10 against Bell since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Bronson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Bronson was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Eastside last Friday. The Eagles never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.
Tyson Petrokowski made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Petrokowski was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Bronson let Cooper Howard and Everett Holder run wild. Howard got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Holder went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave Howard a new career-high. Kevin Heiser also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Bronson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only posted a batting average of .143.
Bell let Hamilton County stack five runs on them in the fourth inning on Friday but luckily Bell prevailed anyway. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Trojans 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted against the Trojans since March 6, 2017.
Jackson Philman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs. Bell is undefeated when Philman posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Dean Glass was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bell's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was RJ Leffler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Bell now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Bronson, their record is now 3-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bronson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bronson might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Bell in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
