Currituck County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Hertford County Bears as they made off with a 14-1 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 16-0 win back in March.

Riley Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Haiden McMurray was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Beliles, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Currituck County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hertford County only posted an OBP of .375.

Currituck County pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hertford County, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Looking ahead, Currituck County will look to defend their home field on the 29th against First Flight at 6:00 p.m. As for Hertford County, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
