The Dover Pirates pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lamar. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dover in their matchups with Lamar: they've now lost nine in a row.
Lamar was led to victory by Lane Miller and Ben Noonan. Miller scored 22 points along with six rebounds, while Noonan dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Green, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Dover's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Dover will head out on the road to challenge Perryville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lamar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Arkansas Christian at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central Arkansas Christian comes in on 11 and Lamar on seven.
