Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Academy Skates Past Lighthouse Prep Academy with Ease

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Eagles on Thursday. The Heartland Christian Academy Eagles breezed by the Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles to the tune of 71-44. Heartland Christian Academy hasn't had any issues with Lighthouse Prep Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Heartland Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Titus Bock, who posted 17 points. Bock has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Kiser, who scored 15 points.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Fowler, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points. Fowler continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ethan Stammer was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Heartland Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Lighthouse Prep Academy, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Heartland Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bevier at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th. Heartland Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Bevier likes a good challenge. Lighthouse Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
