The Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons won the last time they faced the Evangelical Christian Sentinels, and things went their way on Thursday too. Charlotte secured a 51-47 W over Evangelical Christian. The win made it back-to-back wins for Charlotte.
Charlotte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamie Ellis, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The game was Ellis' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lazaiya Kinville, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Evangelical Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zaira Mitchell, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Areille Marc, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Charlotte's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Evangelical Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte will be staying on the road on December 22nd to face off against Venice at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Evangelical Christian, they will square off against Gateway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
