The Leslie Blackhawks were the 42-36 winner over the Columbia Central Golden Eagles when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Leslie took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia Central.
Columbia Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Freshcorn out in front who scored 15 points along with five assists. Emma Shafer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
Leslie's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Columbia Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leslie will take on East Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbia Central, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Homer at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th.
