The McKeel Academy Wildcats extended their postseason success on Friday against the Aubrey Rogers Patriots. Their defense stepped up to hand the Patriots a 2-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back wins for McKeel Academy.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Jillian Elliott and
Makenzie Thornton, who scored both of McKeel Academy's goals. The pair have combined for a total of eight so far this season.
McKeel Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-6-3. As for Aubrey Rogers, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4-3.
McKeel Academy will head out on the road to challenge Academy of the Holy Names at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Academy of the Holy Names will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something McKeel Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Aubrey Rogers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
