Whitney and Del Oro are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will welcome the Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Whitney 3, Del Oro 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Whitney is returning to their home field after beating Oak Ridge on theirs, despite the fact Oak Ridge has dominated at home this season. The Wildcats came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 5-1 on Monday.

Taylor Cordell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bri Seffens was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Brooklyn Steele was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Del Oro entered their tilt with Roseville on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Give the Golden Eagles' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Mikayla Finn looked comfortable as she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Delaney Osborne, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avyn Brower, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Del Oro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Whitney is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Del Oro, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both Whitney and Del Oro just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Del Oro struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Whitney couldn't quite get it done against Del Oro in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 7-4. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
