The Bellevue Wolverines will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Yelm Tornados at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Bellevue: 16.7, Yelm: 8.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
With a playoff game on the line, Bellevue rose to the challenge on Saturday. They managed a 21-17 win over the Fighting Irish. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Bellevue was the better team in the second half.
Carson Rubin was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Yelm put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Eastside Catholic onto the board and left with a 7-0 win.
Brayden Platt went supernova for Yelm, rushing for 219 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Platt was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
Yelm's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Kenji Scanlan and Isaiah Patterson who racked up five sacks between them.
Bellevue's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Yelm, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
Bellevue and Yelm were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but Bellevue came up empty-handed after a 28-27 defeat. Can Bellevue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
