The Southwest Roughriders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cheylin Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Southwest put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Bertrand 51-21 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-6.
Southwest can attribute much of their success to Allison Vanpelt, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vanpelt has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Nelms, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Cheylin suffered a tough 61-39 defeat at the hands of Wheatland-Grinnell last Friday.
Southwest pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Cheylin, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
