At the plate, Kyla Dewitt was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Leah Honeycutt, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Iroquois West hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley struck out eight times.
Iroquois West picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Chrisman, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Iroquois West's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chrisman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .406. It's a different story for Iroquois West, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Chrisman's hitters?
