On Friday, First Academy suffered a rough 63-42 loss at the hands of Community Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, First Academy had strong showings from Jakson Bounds, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Logan James, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Bounds scored 15 or more points.
Even though they lost, First Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Community Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Kylin McDonald, who scored 35 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which McDonald has scored at least a third of Community Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Beau Moore, who scored 15 points.
First Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Community Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face CHESS Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Community Christian Academy, they will face off against St. Teresa's Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
