Mount Notre Dame put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Ryle by a score of 55-45. For Mount Notre Dame, this counts as revenge for the 47-37 loss Ryle walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Mount Notre Dame's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laila Harrison led the charge by scoring 12 points. Harrison is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Pitzer, who scored ten points.
When it comes to explaining why Ryle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sarah Baker. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Eubank, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and six assists.
Mount Notre Dame pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Ryle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Notre Dame will play host again and welcome Bellbrook, where tip off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bellbrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Mount Notre Dame is ranked seventh). Ryle won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Boone County at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
