Amite won the last time they faced Independence, and things went their way on Friday, too. Amite were fully in charge, breezing past Independence 35-0. Followers of Amite probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
The victory bumped Amite's record up to 5-1. Independence are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Next week Amite take on Northlake Christian at 7:00 PM. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. Independence will look to defend their home turf against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 PM.
