Rivas stood out for HHS in the win. The senior caught two touchdowns.
The Thornton school also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 40-0.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Hawks, which was coming off a 21-14 defeat at the hands of Regis Jesuit in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for NHS.
Horizon (2-1) will play a non-conference game against Columbine next week, while Northglenn (0-3) will take on Rangeview also in a non-conference game.
