Baseball Recap: Oakdale's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Oakdale can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against the Rockwood Tigers as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Canyon Hamby looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Collins, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Morgan Scott was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Oakdale's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Rockwood, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Oakdale will head out on the road to challenge Greenback at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cherokees' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Rockwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
