Baseball Recap: Severn School Has No Trouble Against Westville

Severn School waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Westville Yellowjackets 21-1. That looming 21-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Admirals yet this season.

Caden Blanck made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Szydlik, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Lawrence Jacobs was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Severn School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Severn School's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Westville, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Severn School will square off against Putnam Science Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westville, they will face off against Karns City at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
