The Sugar Creek Wildcats won the last time they faced the Garinger Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Sugar Creek strolled past Garinger with points to spare, taking the game 72-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sugar Creek.
Terry Watson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Corde Harrison, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Coby Speed and Rae Bennett certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Speed almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Bennett scored nine points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Speed has scored all season.
Sugar Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Garinger, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with that loss, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sugar Creek will take on Charlotte Lab School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sugar Creek is facing Charlotte Lab School at the right time seeing as Charlotte Lab School is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Garinger, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Providence at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Garinger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
