Greenwood is 0-10 against the Trojans since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Greenwood Woodmen are on the road again and plays the Center Grove Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only 15 points in their last match, Greenwood made sure to put some points up on the board against the Falcons on Friday. Greenwood walked away with a 56-44 victory over the Falcons.
Meanwhile, Center Grove had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 47-20 win over Bloomington South on the road. Center Grove is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 16 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Audrey Annee, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Rachel Wirts was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Greenwood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16. As for Center Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 23-1.
Greenwood was dealt a bruising 70-15 loss at the hands of the Trojans in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Greenwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
