Basketball Recap: Desert Ridge Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Desert Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by the West Point Dragons 68-32. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Dragons are ranked 19th).

Leading West Point to victory were Dewey Henry and Samuel Kalikilwa. Henry went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points, while Kalikilwa went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points along with five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Davis, who posted eight points.

Desert Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for West Point, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Desert Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-50 loss against Casteel on the 12th. As for West Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-45 win against Skyline on the 17th.
