The Hollins Royals can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Boca Ciega out 73-71. The victory was all the more spectacular given Hollins' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Boca Ciega is ranked 204th).
Hollins got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Miller out in front who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Miller's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Lemons, who scored 21 points.
Hollins' victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Boca Ciega, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Hollins will be playing at home against Countryside at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Countryside is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Boca Ciega, they will challenge Clearwater at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Clearwater is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
