Applewood Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Ridge Christian. While losing is never fun, Applewood Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while Blue Ridge Christian is ranked 172nd).
Blue Ridge Christian was led to victory by Kaleb Price and Mekhi Jones. Price almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, while Jones scored 22 points along with three steals. Price hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. Pennbrook Shaver was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Applewood Christian dropped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Blue Ridge Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
Applewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they will take on Providence Classical Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
