3A Conference 13 recap October 29, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Western Harnett, who took down 270th ranked South Johnston, 29-21.
Cleveland moved up to 126 from 155 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Conference 13. The Rams climbed the ranks as a result of beating Corinth Holders 34-32.
Cole Sakowski threw for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 27-37 with 0 interceptions.
Dymon Walker was the best wideout in the league this week as Corinth Holders lost to Cleveland. Walker tallied 4 receptions for 114 yards. Tony Kirkwood helped Corinth Holders' passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 68 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Devin Harris. The South Johnston star has 55 catches for 747 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Triton takes on the Eagles. At the moment, the Hawks are in first, while Western Harnett is in fourth.
Marc Morris' team and Barry Honeycutt's team played the most contested game in 3A Conference 13 this week, with Marc Morris' team eventually emerging with a 34-32 victory. Aaron Farmer threw for 67 yards and ran for 95 yards during the win.
