The Gateway Olympians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season. They blew past Hinkley 65-33 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Gateway also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Hayden Von Boeckman, who scored 17 points along with three steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Wenzel, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Gateway's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hinkley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gateway will challenge Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hinkley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Denver North at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Denver North presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hinkley in Colorado (Denver North is ranked 140th, while Hinkley is ranked 318th).
