The Sugar Creek Wildcats lost against the Highland Tech Rams back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Sugar Creek was outmatched by the Rams on the road and fell 55-16.
Despite the defeat, Sugar Creek saw an underclassman step up: Eriyana Anthony scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anthony has scored all season.
It was another big night for Addie McCraw, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds for Highland Tech. Reese Thomas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 19 rebounds and four steals.
Sugar Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Highland Tech, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Sugar Creek will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Piedmont Community Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday. As for Highland Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Gaston is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
