7A District 3 recap September 24, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 7A District 3 this week, Fleming Island beat Buchholz 42-20,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Fleming Island was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Bobcats. Frank Hall's team came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 35 last week.
Buchholz's Jackson White and Naquan Howard have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. White has thrown for 367 yards this season, while Howard has 9 catches for 159 yards. Atlantic Coast's Terry Bennett leads the league in rushing yards with 501.
The Stingrays scaled the state rankings by moving to 136 from 171 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Atlantic Coast climbed the ranks as a result of topping Oakleaf 36-20.
