Covenant Christian has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Pantego Christian Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pantego Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Covenant Christian, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Covenant Christian didn't have too much trouble with Midland Classical Academy on the road as they won 59-45. The win was just what Covenant Christian needed coming off of a 79-44 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Pantego Christian lost to Grace Prep on the road by a decisive 71-53 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Pantego Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 729th, while Grace Prep is ranked 218th).
Pantego Christian might have lost, but man, Tristan Brown was a machine: he scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. Brown continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Shane Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Covenant Christian's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Pantego Christian, they now have a losing record at 16-17.
