Basketball Recap: Grayden Humphries' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chapman over Mountain View Prep

Chapman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 56-49 to the Mountain View Prep Stars. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly seven points.

Chapman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Grayden Humphries, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Humphries is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colt Mcallister, who earned 14 points and six rebounds.

Mountain View Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryson Drummond, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points. Malachi Ritter was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 13 points.

Chapman's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Mountain View Prep, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10.

Chapman will welcome Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season. Mountain View Prep has already played their next match (against Woodruff), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
